According to the American Dental Association, younger dentists aren’t settling in rural areas. The result is less access to quality dental care, while the dental care that is provided is often unaffordable in rural communities. This is a challenge as patients may be unable to get the level of dental care commonly available in more populous regions. This critical issue was addressed in an article titled Access to dental care a challenge in some Worcester County communities published by the Telegraph and Gazette. In this article, Dr. Ancy Verdier, a periodontist and partner at Bedi Dental Group, shared his experience of doing the opposite in his career, he left New York and relocated to Worcester, Massachusetts.
